The Days Lost

The Days Lost - Shannon McCrimmon Ellie has lost her mom not long ago, but it still dealing with the hurt as if it was yesterday. Ellie copes with it the only way she knows how...by taking off running for hours at a time. The family is hurting but no one wants to talk about it. And slowly it is tearing them apart.

As Ellie ventures out on her own during one of her runs, she comes across a family that seems to think they are living in the days of the Civil War. Not sure if she is having a breakdown from all the stress she is under or really happened upon a family lost in time...Ellie finds herself in the middle of a mystery only found in one of her books.

I just loved the idea that McCrimmon has come up with. It is different and fun and before long you are so caught up in the story you feel as if you are really there. That is power of a talented author. They wield words into something amazing, beautiful, and transforming. They spin a story that takes you out of your reality and places you somewhere else entirely. I found this true with McCrimmon’s first series as well. That is talent, folks!

The mystery that surrounds the story was definitely one of the reasons I was so enthralled with the book. It really is interesting and will have you eagerly reading to find out the hows and whys behind it all. And let’s not forget the characters, shall we. They are so endearing and kind. Well a majority of them are. There are a few scoundrels you will have to be on the lookout for.

This story is a must read and perfect for any age reader! Just pick it up and get lost in THE DAYS LOST.
