The Secret of Ella and Micha

The Secret of Ella and Micha - Jessica Sorensen With nowhere to go for the summer, Ella is forced to go back to her hometown...back to her drunken father and the guy she left 8 months ago on a lonely bridge. Ella knew it would be hard going home, but she had no idea how hard it would be pretending to be new Ella. The old Ella is gone forever, she was left on that bridge too 8ths ago, never to return…or will she?

Whoa, goodness, whoa! I absolutely adored this story from start to finish. I loved that the story wasn't rainbows and butterflies; there was pain and hurt that snuck its way in at every turn for Ella. Although I couldn’t relate to her character and the pain and loss she went through, I did feel like the author wrote her well enough that I hurt with her. I wanted to just reach out and hug her. Thankfully Micha was there to help in that regard.

Yes, this is a love story, but these two have a lot of demons that they must fight off before they can truly be together. That is if they can overcome their past. It’s not going to be an easy feat. Their relationship was shattered 8 months prior and there is still a tremendous amount of hurt that was left behind. And just when one of them makes progress in their relationship, something happens and everything gets thrown back to the starting line.

Jessica did a fabulous, fabulous job on this story. And I really look forward to reading more of her work now. Especially if her other reads are as great as this one. And to see that Ella and Micha’s story continues on in another book? Eeep! That is great news. I need more of these two people and I am excited to see what else gets thrown at them. Oh and we also get an Ethan and Lila story. This also makes me happy because they were wonderful additions to the story. These two characters grow on you in the story and pretty soon you can’t help but fall form them as well.

I recommend this story to anyone who loves a story about those deep rooted relationships that are worth fighting for. I think those who read The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window and even Beautiful Disaster will really take a liking to The Secret of Ella and Micha. So yes, I truly recommend this book whole heartedly.
