actually rated book a 3.5 stars but I always round up to the next star.

SWEET THING was a good book that held my interest, although barely at times. It wasn't flashing or suspenseful, just a good read. I did find there were a lot of moments the story would drag and at times I would contemplate putting it down. But my need to know what would happen in the end won out and I kept going. Was I surprised with the ending? Nah. But I enjoyed it and glad that I kept going and finished the story.

I will say that wasn’t a fan of Mia. None what so ever. I found her to be self absorbed and whiny. I know she just lost her dad, but lordy, the girl was too sensitive about a lot of things. And when she would try to show her assertive, self assured side, I was wasn’t buying it. I guess that was just her trying to find her real self…the real Mia. But since I couldn’t connect with Mia I had a hard time caring for her even though the whole story was in her POV.

However, I did love Will. Who wouldn’t love that free spirited rocker type? Yeah I can understand what Mia saw at first glance. He didn’t send off those ‘I am ready to settle down’ vibes and with her parents history I can understand her fear of wanting to stay away. But I didn’t like the way Mia treated him. I felt he could have done a lot better than what she was dishing out. One second she is leading him on and the next she is flaunting her new boyfriend in front of Will. That is just not right. Will is such a good, kind hearted person that deserves the same respect and affection that he gives out.

I do recommend this read to those who enjoy a light hearted romance and have a love for music. Like always, read SWEET THING for yourself so you can be the judge. In the end, I liked it, but it just wasn’t for me.
