The Many Lives of Avery Snow (The Past Lives, #1)

The Many Lives of Avery Snow (The Past Lives, #1) - Christy Sloat
Avery can't sleep anymore and its wrecking havocs on her life, well if you can call it that. She is lonely and can only daydream of the local bartender, Dallas, falling in love with her. Yeah, as if that would ever happen. All he ever does is ask about her sexy friend Kerri. Then one day she meets Landon and Dallas also starts to show interest; things could be looking up for her after all. But when she is visited by her spirit guide she learns that Landon is not what he seems. Now Avery must decide who she should be with and if soul mates truly exist.

Gosh, isn’t it just awful to have two guys vying for a girl’s attention? Well, it’s really not as easy as that seems. I was back and forth the entire book on who Avery should be with. One moment I just knew she should definitely be with Dallas, only to second guess my decision and think Landon would be a good choice.

This book had a really interesting storyline. I loved the idea of past lives and people having a choice to be reincarnated when they go to Heaven. And the fact that Landon could remember each of his lives from the moment he is a little child was fascinating.

I did have a little trouble with some of the conversations between characters…like it wasn’t natural, forced almost. And I did notice quite a few typos.

But none the less, Sloat’s debut novel is an enjoyable read that will take you on a journey through past lives and into an uncertain future.
