Let me first start off with thanking M. Clarke (aka Mary Ting) for looking me up to review her book before its release. I am really into the whole NA genre and was looking forward to reading her work for the first time. Yes, I know. I hear I am missing out on her CROSSROADS series from what I am hearing. Maybe one day soon I will get through my pile of reviews and read it. *sigh*
Now on with the show. While I loved the storyline and the characters (will get to those in a bit) I think it was Ting's writing that kind of threw me off a little. Not that it was bad, it just different and came off a little choppy to me at first until I got used to it. But it was nice to know I am not the only one who likes to wear the crap out of '...' ! I love using '...' and I love reading books with those in them.
One other tiny quirk I had was the name use of certain body parts. I felt like I was back in 9th grade Health class and not reading a romance novel. I don't know...could just be me...but it sort of ruined the scenes where they were mentioned.
Earlier I noted I loved the storyline. Yes...yes I did. And I loved the chemistry between Max and Jenna even more. So when you add those two together you get one amazing read...an amazing read I couldn't put down. I flew through it and look forward to more NA reads by Ting. In fact, with the way the story was going I am hoping for a story about Becky and Matthew next. And hopefully, maybe someday, we will get to the rest of Jenna's friends. Even though one is married and another engaged, I think it would be fun to hear their stories as well.
Love the whole NA craze that is taking over the literary world? Then this read will definitely be one to add to your TBR list.
