Centaur Legacy (Touched Series Book 2)

Centaur Legacy - Nancy Straight On the run in search of something that up until now has only been heard of in the Greek myths told to them as children, Cami and Drake must make their way to Ireland in search of Hercules' arrow. An arrow and her Great Uncle. Hoping both will give her the protection from her grandmother she so desperately needs. What they discover on this journey is beyond anything Cami thought possible. Greek mythology is coming to life before her very eyes and it may be the only thing able to keep them both alive in the end.

Amazing. This story was simply amazing. If I had to compare this book to another one out there, it would most likely be THE LIGHTNING THIEF. I have yet to read the book but I did see the movie. And this book is like a New Adult version of that. Everything about it came to life when the history of the Centaurs was told. The story captured my attention from the very first book and has yet to release me. Quite sure I don't want it to either. These books are fascinating and I am completely happy to pitch a tent and relax within its words.

If I thought I couldn't love Drake any more than I already did, well, this one proved me wrong on so many levels. Straight was able to write a character that affected me so strongly. My feelings were amped up for him. Especially in the scenes where he was so deeply hurting for Cami and wondering if she would reject him. Ok. That is all I am saying about that. Don't want to step on toes and give stuff away. But if any of you had doubts about his love for Cami...I am here to squash those thoughts. He loves her. That is final.

I am now moving on to book 3, CENTAUR RIVALRY. I have to know what is going to happen as they make their way on this incredible journey. Hell. Is. About. To. Break. Loose. Mark my words.

Heart Breaker (An AnguiSH Novella)

Heart Breaker (An AnguiSH Novella) - Lila Felix
“Everyone is afraid of orchids. They think they’ll give them too much water, or not enough. So they pass them by. Ash never passed me by. The rest of the world thought I was fickle and out of reach. She never did. And everything she does is just right for me.”
*

Breaker is well on his way, back to a life in public with Ash by his side. All is right between them until a foe named Doubt makes a greedy appearance. Ash soon becomes consumed with it and wonders if Breaker really needs her in his life anymore?

*
In most instances, I was strong—I could handle anything. But something about Breaker James—well, broke me. I guess that’s the other tough thing about love—it exposes your weaknesses and shines a spotlight on them.
Apparently one of my weaknesses was feeling like Breaker didn’t need me anymore.
That his need for me in his life had come and gone.
Expired.
Fizzled to nothing.

*

Can Breaker get any more adorable? Yes. Yes, he can. Seriously, how on earth did Ash allow something so petty get between them? The words of love he recites to her everyday is enough to make even the strongest weak in their knees. He loves his girl something fierce. But even he isn't immune to that dastardly devil. He too wonders if he will always be good enough for Ash. They have some issues they need to work through before they can truly be happy together.

*
Breaker was breaking me again.
God, it felt beautiful to be broken.

*

A perfect little novella that will have you remembering why you fell in love with Breaker and Ash to begin with. And have you falling for them all over again. Felix gives us such a beautiful story, a beautiful romance. My heart is so full! Absolutely, a must read!

*
“Ash?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you more today than bikini day.”
She giggled, “I love you more today than lights in the library day.”

Take Me To Your Reader: An Otherworld Anthology

Take Me To Your Reader: An Otherworld Anthology - Amy A. Bartol, Tammy Blackwell, Amanda Havard, Heather Hildenbrand, Tiffany King, C.A. Kunz, Sarah M. Ross, Raine Thomas "The Divided" by Amy Bartol (Premonition Series. 'Under Different Stars')

Merciful Aliens! Never before having read one of Bartol's books, I wasn't sure what to expect. Instantly I was enamored with her storyline and what was going on with Violet. Violet is obviously troubled by the death of her finance but is no way prepared for what she finds proceeding his death. The story is genius and one of a kind. I wholeheartedly loved it!! Only problem I had was the story ended. :(

"Monsters of Earth" by Tammy Blackwell (Timberwolves Series)

Another author I've yet to read and this one was so very sad and sweet at the same time. It is extremely short and it seems to be an opener for a longer book. I enjoyed it but wished for a little more story and not quite such an abrupt ending. Still, all in all, it was a good read.

"The House on Maple Street" by Amanda Havard (The Survivors Series and Immersedition)

An epic Alien tale that it the spot. I was intrigued from the start and pleasantly surprised with the ending. Harvard spins a story that has you hanging on to every word, aching to know what is going to happen next. You may mysteriously have a hankering to up and visit a Dairy Queen when all is said and done. Don't fight this urge....

"The Force" by Heather Hildenbrand (The Dirty Blood Series. The Imitation Series)

Think The Hangover meets Aliens. I enjoyed following Alex and his friend as they set out in search of a fellow alien that goes missing while partying it up on Spring Break. I did however dislike the ending. Not enough to hate the story. Oh no. I just would have liked a different ending. Unless of course Hildenbrand is planning to revisit this story and continue it on as a series. *COUGH* hint hint *COUGH* Still a fun read and very entertaining.

"Ultra-Con" by Tiffany King (The Saving Angels Series. 'Miss Me Not.' 'No Attachments.'
It is just a Scifi convention...what could possibly go wrong? Answer: absolutely everything. Aliens, host body’s, lethal alien virus ready to take out entire worlds in one fell swoop...just to name a few. King gives us a fun yet terrifying story that leaves you guessing throughout the whole story. Alien lovers rejoice! This is a story made just for you.

"Snow Globe" by C.A. Kunz (The Childe Series. 'The Modified.' 'One Tiny Secret.' 'Lucky Number Four' {as Amanda Jason})

One word for this story and that is adorable! What would you do if you happened upon a gorgeous alien who crashed his spacecraft in your back yard? The mother and son duo bring us a cute, quick read that will leave you smiling in the end. I definitely wouldn't hate on them if they were to give us more of Andi and Kyle.

"The Black Stone Heir" by Sarah M. Ross (The Patronus Series. 'Inhale Exhale.')

A fantastic story about aliens and falling in love. They go hand in hand right? Most definitely they do. Especially when Ross is writing the story.
The story was short, sweet and majorly intense. Not knowing what would happen next was what propelled me to read and on and find out its answer. I loved the story and adored the romance. Another great read from a great author!

"The Ascendant" by Raine Thomas (Daughters of Saraquel Trilogy. Firstborn Trilogy. 'Meant for Her.' 'For Everly.')

Hooked! Absolutely hooked. Just a few pages in and I came to one conclusion: I. Need. More.
The storyline is catchy and the characters are ones I have to know more about. So glad I was given the chance to read another amazing story by Thomas. Cannot wait to see how this story unfolds.

Blood Debt (Touched Series Book 1)

Blood Debt (Touched Series Book 1) - Nancy Straight “What if I just want to be normal?”
“Normal isn’t an option when you’re extraordinary.” Chris put his hand on mine and gave it a gentle squeeze, “You are extraordinary, Camille. Choose wisely.”

***

I don't know what took me so long to get to this one. Straight stole my heart with her Destiny series, so I should have known this one would be just as excellent. And boy was it! Straight has this flawless way of moving you from what you think is a contemporary read into something para/supernatural. Everything flows and you feel as if this world has been here all along. And I do believe I have never read a Centaur story before. So that made this a fun, unique read for me.

I enjoyed Cami's character so much. She is a head strong girl that knows what she wants and won't let anyone persuade her otherwise. Even with all this newness being thrown at her as the story starts out, she still manages to keep her head on straight and not let it sway her. No matter the traditions she is introduced to, she is bound and determined to still lead her life her way. And throughout the entire book, she keeps that determination.

The storyline is one that is sort of two fold. As you are reading you think that it is all about her new life meeting her new family. But there are secrets that lead Cami off into a different direction. This secrets are sinister and evil, and completely take Cami (and the reader) by surprise. I found myself really worrying for Cami's safety and sanity. It was definitely a scary situation that she found herself in. And the shock and awe’s were enough to have me fearing for the worse. Well played, Straight. Well played!

What I thought would be a book with minimal romance really surprised me in the end. I was very happy with how everything lead up to the ending, especially the romance. I do love some romance, but I was glad the whole book wasn’t centered on only that. There was more story and that was fine with me.

Great read…a definite recommend! I am reading book 2 now, so I hope you look forward to reading that review when I get done. 5 stars!!

Forced Autonomy (Phase 2)

Forced Autonomy (Phase 2) - Lila Felix In these times, the voice of another human, especially one you cared for, was magic and when they spoke to you, you sat on the edge of every word, desperate to jump onto the edge of the next. You longed for the camaraderie of others.
How things had changed was astounding.

***

Running for your life is not as glamorous as some people think. Ok, nobody really thinks that. There is sicknesses that have bodily fluids flowing from all ends. Toilet paper and even toilets are hard to come by. In fact, they're damn near extinct. But when the alternative is becoming a manmade working zombie fashioned at the hands of the government...lack of toiletries ain't so bad. Not bad at all.

Petra is up to her eyeballs in sickness at the camp, constantly cleaning and taking care of others who are plagued by the illness. In her free time, she worries about Lawson and if he is ok. She also worries if he feels the same about her as she does him. Or wonders if she is just another Grainer. Someone he can help out of their situation and send on their way to a better life; never to look twice at again. But now that Lawson is back, things turn interesting. Now it is time to see how he really feels...

***
I didn’t know what exactly it was about her that sucked me in and kept me tethered.
But I wanted nothing else in this tiny life than to be tethered to her.

***

I was so glad to see an ARC of Phase 2 of FORCED AUTOMY sitting in my inbox. I didn't even know she was close to getting it out yet. I immediately dug in late that night and immersed myself back into this crazy, messed up world Felix presented to us for the first time last month. I dig that she isn't sugar coating things and letting characters get away with things that normally would be hard to come by in a world that has fallen. It feels real and it feels raw and it's absolutely disgusting. I love it! And it doesn't take long to figure out the villain you're sure to hate and the characters you know you are going to love when it comes to this series.

***
I looked up to the sky but it too caused me pain in the form of a bee sting in the corner of my eye. From the position of the sun, I could see it was almost four in the afternoon. Shep taught me that. He also tried to teach me how to make fart noises with my armpits, but I formally declined.
****

The best part was the growing relationship between Lawson and Petra. There wasn't much of a relationship in Phase 1, but like I thought, Felix gave us more of them in Phase 2. More feelings to explore and more needs to be had! I love these two and look forward to just more of them together.

***
“Tell me what to do. Tell me to stay. Tell me to go. Tell me that you will be okay if I leave.”
Selfishly, I answered, “I won’t.”

****

“Why are you so brave?”
“Me,” I pointed to myself.
“Yes, you. I think that’s the first thing I liked about you. You were gonna fillet me like a fish with that comb.”
“I would’ve,” I squinted at him.
“So tough—and so damned pretty. Let’s go eat frogs.”

***

After finishing this Phase I am desperately needing more. All hell is about to break loose and I am just going to kick back and grab some popcorn...because it is going to be awesome! This series is an addiction I don't want a cure for!

Slip the Skin, Episode One (Slip the Skin #1)

Slip the Skin, Episode One (Slip the Skin #1) - Tera Shanley *I actually rated this book 4.5 stars but when leaving reviews on sites such as Amazon, Goodreads, ets...I always round up to the next whole star!*

I fell face first in love with Shanley's LOVE IN THE TIME OF THE DEAD simply because 1. It's about zombies. And 2. She is a fabulous author. I love the trip she took us on in that one and the characters she introduced us to. That is definitely one book I will always look back on as one of my more favorite ones.

And that leads us to SLIP THE SKIN. When Shanley asked if I wanted to read her little novella about Lycan's, I figured what the heck. And completely glad I did. It was a quick read and a fun one too. I am rating it 4.5 stars simply because some parts seemed too rushed. Yes, I know it is a novella, but you don't take becoming a werewolf like it is everyday conversation. "Oh I am a were? Good to know." To me that was just too rushed and I would have liked a little bit more of a freak out.

Other than that, the story was great. I really wish it would have been a longer story. I could definitely see more story wanting to come out. Like these characters had more to give. But all in all, I really enjoyed it and thought that Shanley's writing was spot on. Great writing, great story telling, great characters. Like I have said before in my review of LOVE IN THE TIME OF THE DEAD, I will absolutely be looking forward to more of Shanley's work.

Love and Decay 2, Episode One

Love and Decay 2, Episode One - Rachel Higginson
It was hard to believe in God when the world around me resembled hell so strongly. But then there were moments like this. There were situations I survived when I shouldn’t have. There were minutes added to my life that should not exist. There were miraculous drives home in which a vehicle this beat up should not have made it- but it did. And I did. I continued to breathe, to think, to live. I continued to survive despite this decay, despite this horrid death that crept into every part of my existence but my own life and the lives of those people I loved most.
****

Oh glorious day! I am thrilled beyond belief to be back in Higginson's wonderful world of zombies. I was over the moon when asked if I wanted to read an ARC of season 2 episode 1. Um, would riots ensue if Daryl was killed on The Walking Dead? Hell to the yes! I jumped at the chance to read an ARC. I have missed these people something fierce. Especially Reagan and Hendrix. Hallelujah! It is about time these books returned!

****
Because as much as Hendrix loved me. And the boy absolutely did love me… He wouldn’t hesitate to put a bullet right into my temple if I happened to get bit.
And that, my dear End-of-the-World survivors, was true, everlasting love.

****

Life is somewhat better since we last heard from everyone. Meaning it is stable for the time being. The threat of Matthias is still present. But life continues. No one knows for certain if Kane is dead or alive. No one has seen him when out scouting. But no news doesn't necessarily mean good news.

I really wasn't expecting this book to be all that intense. I was actually thinking that Higginson would just give us all a read that slowly got us back into the groove of things in their zombie infested world. Kind of a 'here is what’s been going on update' kind of story. Yeah, so not happening. From the start to the very end the story was absolutely crazy. The story was intense (as usual). And the story was amazing (as usual). I loved every minute of it and so glad to be back with everyone again.

****
I was the kind of girl that strapped on a semi-automatic, and a sawed-off and blew the head off anything that tried to come near my man.
I didn’t play homemaker. I played backup. That was the only love language I could speak.

****

Another must read episode to an all new season!! I am so glad it is back and give mad props to Higginson for bringing it back with a bang!!

First: A Crescent Chronicles Novella (The Crescent Chronicles)

First - Alyssa Rose Ivy I have always wondered what it was like when cocky Levi's charming ways went unnoticed, well somewhat unnoticed, by Allie we they first met. It had to have been a burn to his high flying ego. And in some ways it was. Poor guy. Never been told no before until Allie. Now he is constantly getting told it from every angle. But he doesn't let that two letter word deter him. In fact, it only makes him try harder.

Great little novella. Only problem for me was that it ended. I needed to see his side of things as things progressed. But I still loved what Ivy gave us and I really cannot complain. It was a fabulous little read and we get Levi. So yeah, things are good and I will take what I can get.

Definitely something you don't want to read first in the series if you have yet to read any of the books. But if you have at least read FLIGHT, then I say get at it. This is just a fun addition to a stellar series. One of my most favorite series ever actually. 5 Feathery Stars!

The Minaldi Legacy

The Minaldi Legacy - Courtney Cole I was a little apprehensive when I started THE MINALDI LEGACY. Just knowing it was a dark romantic read had me a little nervous. I usually do not do well with those type reads. But I got to admit that it wasn't anything like I thought it would be. Yeah, there were some scenes that made me feel a little awkward, but nothing too serious. I really enjoyed the story and the incredible suspense that radiated from between the pages.

The whole first half you are not entirely sure if this is going to be a paranormal read or not. It is crazy intense not knowing and trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with Luca. Which leads me to him. I adored him, I hurt for him, and I wanted to protect him...throughout the whole read. He was in desperate need of some help and Eva was just the right girl for the job. She had this desperate and urgent need to be around him and mend him. There was such an amazing connection between the two from the moment Luca charges into her cottage and defends her against a non-venomous spider. He is my kind of hero!

***
Her soul is so beautiful and I know that I will break it. Against every lingering shred of my will, I know that I will break it. I sigh raggedly in the dark room.
She’s beautiful and gentle and God would never give me someone like her and allow it to work. He wouldn’t.
Yet still I clutch her.
She is soft beneath my fingers and I know that I should let go. That I should get up from this bed and
never come back.
But I can’t.
The selfish part of me can’t do it.
***

The story is so very frightening and beautiful all in one. Yes, there is more fright than beauty, but it is the beauty that makes it all worth it. Luca has a lot of issues to work through and it will be quite the battle as he does. But everything worth having is worth fighting for, that is for sure.

In the end, I am truly happy I was asked by Cole to review this book. It was a great read and I love one that challenges me to seek the answer of the mystery. I love finding out in the end if I guessed right. And although, I was semi right in my guessing, I was happy that Cole outsmarted me and revealed something more. Great story...5 thrilling stars!
RecruitZ (Afterworld, #1) - Karice Bolton Having her husband ripped from her arms by the very things she thought they'd already survived, Rebekah makes it her life's work to find out who and what is behind her husband’s death. Even if it means alienating herself from her friends. Along the way she meets Preston, who in turn helps her in her search of answers. What they find is beyond anything they could ever imagine. But this is the Afterworld after all, so anything is possible. And no one is to be trusted.

This is one story that will have you on the edge of your seat from the very start all the way through. It is intense...it is frenzied...it is absolutely amazing. If I wasn't already a fan of Bolton's, this one would be the one to make me that fangirl. But I already knew that Bolton is one heck of an author. I've read her other work. I know she has what it takes to give us readers a great read and sexy characters. Even if they are being hunted by the undead.

I always love some romance with my reads, and this one just didn’t have it. But it did have zombies, so it definitely made up for the lack of romance. I will say that there is hinting of romance. And I look forward to it in the next one. Because if I know Bolton, she was itching to write some and knew that it just wasn’t the right time for it. And it wasn’t. There is a time and place for romance to happen and Bolton just needed to lay the ground work for the story. I am sure she didn’t want to rush into it, with all that is going on in this book.

I adored this read and its fast paced flow. The reader is constantly on the go with everything that is happening and I think it was absolutely perfect for this story. I am truly looking forward to what is going to happen in ALIBIZ with Rebekah and Preston. 5 Gory Stars from me and a definite must read!

In the End (Quarantined #2)

In the End (Quarantined #2) - Tracey Ward The nightmares will still come for us. They always do. There’s nothing either of us can ever do to make them stop. But at least we know we won’t face them alone.
***

Taking up right where UNTIL THE END left off, we are on the road with Syd, Jordan and Alissa as they try to out run the dead in search of life. Syd has his thoughts on what they should do and so does Jordan. Both are butting heads and in turn, Alissa is caught in the middle. With stress at an all-time high, and nothing but an RV as their sanctuary, the tension is flaring. Jordan and Alissa are constantly fighting as they remember their painful past their bleak future. Is this relationship doomed before it even starts? Has the world given up on those trapped within the Quarantine? Is a cure just a far-fetched dream?

Although I understood where Jordan’s anger was coming from in IN THE END, it didn’t make me like the way he was acting towards Alissa at times. He seemed like a flight risk throughout the read, until he would remember his promise to her to never leave, and that didn’t sit right with me. I mean, I love that he would stand by his word, but I hated that his feelings weren’t there a lot of the time. I don’t know, maybe I am just reading between the lines and that isn’t at all how it really was. I do get that stress will make you do crazy things. So maybe that is it. Because lord have mercy they were under constant stress. That much is true. But in the end, I still loved him. Always will.

Alissa learns something very startling about her Uncle in book 1 and it plays a huge role in this one. She can no longer look at things from her old perspective, everything is different and must be seen in a new light. And Jordan knows that all too well. This book being in Jordan’s POV we see how this new revelation affects not only Alissa and Syd, but him as well. He has to keep his guard up more and I can see how that plays with his emotions.

IN THE END was such a fabulous zombie read and a definite page turner. We were doing some flooring work at our house, so I wasn’t able to pull an all nighter and finish it like I wanted to; like the book was calling me to do. Although I can see how it could be one that someone reads all the way through without stopping. You never want to put the book down. It is that intense and that suspenseful.

This series had me all kinds of crazy. My nerves were shot, my heart near exploding, and my taste for zombies went tenfold. I couldn't believe how much I adored this book! I am telling anyone and everyone that will listen to get this series! It is a must read!! Like you must get it today. Now! Oh yeah, I’ll be moving on to the spin off series soon. WRITING ON THE WALL is the first book in the Survival series. And I cannot wait to start it. This author has a new fangirl and it is me!

Until the End (Quarantined, #1)

Until the End (Quarantined, #1) - Tracey Ward UNTIL THE END was a book I just happened to stumble upon over on Amazon. It was only 99cents so I thought what the hay. Plus, the best thing? It is pure zombies!

I loved this author’s take on it. Sure it is like every other zombie read out there, but the fact that the MC needs certain medicines to keep her composure in life? That made it more real. Well, as real as any zombie read you can find. But seriously, what about the people who need certain medications to live? Will they be the first to succumb in the end? Or will they fight and learn to survive? Really a great idea and I was very happy with the entire read. In fact, I had to make myself put the book away late at night, 75% in, and finish the next morning. I couldn’t stop reading this book! It was that good, that intense!

***
I've brought this on him. He's a hero, my hero. A knight in shining armor and I've led him straight into the dragon's keep. He should have saved someone else. Someone worth saving. He should have ignored my cried and saved himself, and if I could go back and change anything, it would be running from Dee. It would be crying out and fighting the inevitable because at least if I had died alone in that apartment, Jordan would still have a snowball's chance in hell of making it into tomorrow.
***

I loved Jordan and Alissa's relationship from the start. It was a chemistry that sparked and never once extinguished throughout the whole book. The guy comes in and saves the day and together they set out in search of her Uncle's home. That is their one goal. Besides living that is. But together they are comfortable with each other and have a connection that is truer than ones that have been formed for years. And their witty banter had me laughing throughout. Yes, their humor was the perfect balance in a world gone straight to hell at the hands of flesh eating zombies.

Love zombies? Need something that goes a little deeper than just tearing flesh and bone cracking gore? This is the book for you then. I inhaled it and already moving on to book 2, IN THE END. I cannot wait to see what becomes of my 2 favorite people. Be forewarned though, this is one intense read! And maybe a little romance gets thrown in. Hey, I always love when romance makes an appearance.

Untitled

Untitled - Cora Carmack *Please do not read my review if you have yet to read FINDING IT. It very well may contain some spoilers!*

We all met Hunt in FINDING IT while he was sent to watch over Kelsey. But now we get to know him before that. Well, slightly before that. As he is following Kelsey around overseas, we get to know him a little better than we did at first. The pains of trying to make it drink-free for a year, the pains of losing close friends, and the pains of watching over a spoiled little rich girl whose vaca is banked by daddy. But what he didn’t expect was to start having feelings for said girl. Little by little, bar by bar, he is learning that there is more to Kelsey than meets the eye. And soon he cannot hold back his feelings any more.

Oh how I adore Carmack for bringing Hunt into our lives. I love him so very much and was so happy to dive into his mind and see what moved him. I was very happy with this quick read and who Hunt is. One slight problem I had was he didn’t seem as tormented about taking that drink from Kelsey as I would have wanted him to be to make it more believable. But I still loved that Carmack went back and let us in on him from the start so we can know him a little more.

Pick up this fantastic quick read today! You will be glad you did. But please read FINDING IT FIRST.

Secrets and Lies (Truths and Dares, #2)

Secrets and Lies (Truths and Dares, #2) - Amity Hope Oh my aching heart. I had some major feels for Seth in this one. Not only has he endured years of abuse at the hands of his father, but now he is gone in search of his mother. Leaving only a note to Harper to 'move on'. And that is just what she does. After months of heartbreak, Harper realizes it is time to move on. Seth obviously doesn't feel the same about her as she does him since he has never tried to contact her. But when he comes back into her life once again, her feelings are ripping at her very core. Her life is now flipped upside down. Will Harper be able to look past the hurt and abandonment? Will Seth be able to face his house that is so full of secrets and pain?

***
"So, before you go, there's one thing you should know. I realize what a huge mistake I made when I walked away from you. I have no intention of making the same mistake again."
***

Even though the story is still told in Harper’s POV, my feelings for Seth were tenfold. I was itching to be inside his head. What I wouldn't give to know and feel what he felt. I know his life is absolute hell right now, but at least we knew he loved Harper. Yes, he has a lot to work through, but I was holding out hope that together they would be able to get past everything.

***
"I missed the sound of your voice, hearing you laugh. I missed talking to you and listening to you. I missed kissing you and holding you. I don't ever want to miss you again."
"Then don't ever disappear again," I said quietly as I fought to keep the quiver out of my voice.

***

This really was such an emotional read. I had tears of sadness, tears of happiness, and even red hot anger. I thought Harper was more mature with some people in this read than I would have been. I was ready to rip his head off when his secrets were revealed. How dare him!! But I was also proud of her in some ways.

I loved when reading this story, how you are only a little ways in and you think, 'well Seth is back, they love each other, all is right with the world.' But not so. There is still lots of secrets and lots of heartache needing to happen. There is still a whole heck of a lot of book left to read. It can't be over yet. In fact, it is just getting to good stuff.

Loved the romance, loved the suspense, loved the characters. I am definitely one smitten kitten when it comes to this author. She knows how to write a story that pulls you in from the start and leaves you with a smile on your face in the end. And she knows what readers what when it comes to romance. It is sweet and it is beautiful. I will always be excited to read more from Hope and anything else she publishes. SECRETS AND LIES is a must read if you are eager to see how it all ends for Seth and Harper.

Unraveled

Unraveled - Jen Frederick I do believe that this one was my favorite of the series so far. Absolutely loved it. Absolutely loved Gray. Now don't get me wrong, I loved Noah and Bo, too. But there was something about Gray that had me a goner from the start. He is such a wonderful guy. He just has this fear of relationships due to a girlfriend hurting him in the past. It was something he was not willing to be put through again. So, he just did the Friends with Benefits thing. And up until now, that was working for him. Little did he know a short, blonde girl was about to wreak havoc on his world.

Sam is one of those characters you feel for from the start. I hurt for her past...being widowed just months after being married. And even though it took 2 years to work past the pain, she realized it was time to step out of her self-made grave of mourning. And on her first trip out, the girl did pretty good for herself. Gray was her best possible choice in my opinion.

The story was beyond amazing, beyond hot, and beyond romantic. Who though knitting could be so adorable? I enjoyed every second of the story, every single word. I couldn’t put it down. So far that has been my only problem with books by Frederick. Not really a problem, per se, but gosh! She never leaves a dull moment for you to say 'Now is a good time for that potty break.' Nuh uh. You have to keep reading and reading and reading. And that is fine by me.

Frederick does such an awesome job capturing those feelings of first love, summer love. Nothing like summer love, is there? Yes, this book was flippin great and yes, I absolutely recommend it. Now time to go fan myself....

Lucky Number Four

Lucky Number Four - Amanda Jason This was a good read. Not exactly a great one. But a good one. I loved the storyline even though it was a bit much at times. A couple things were repetitive. Let's get to that shall we?

I get Dora has red hair. But to be reminded every other paragraph was overkill. And the author made it seem as if Dora was repulsive with it. I know that is just the way Dora saw herself, but I actually think that red headed girls are pretty. And the constant day dreaming or off in some other thought had me wondering about Dora's mental stability. It was so constant that if I heard 'Earth to Dora' one more time I was going to hurl my nook across the room. Yes, it was that much.

Another part of the story that had me scratching my head was the constant need to worry about the door man. Every time she entered the lobby we had to hear if he was working or not. And then nothing ever came of it. Unless of course I missed that part that explained the need to inform us of his lack of employment. I don't know. That part was just too odd for me.

Like I mentioned earlier, I did love the idea of the storyline. I loved not knowing which of the guys liked Dora. It was definitely a mystery in itself. It had me guessing if it was Colin, Liam, or Drew. Just when I was wishing it was one guy, I would have a change of heart and start wishing for another. I loved not knowing who it was…the fun is in the guessing.

I really wish I could say that I was in love with this story, but it just wasn't there for me. I still would recommend it, because I definitely didn't hate it. In fact, the last forth of the book I read like a mad woman trying to see how it all would end for Dora and her mystery man. Some parts were a little hard to swallow but all in all it was a good read. 4 'Lucky' stars for me!
